Aly Goni is an Indian actor working in the Hindi television industry. He is known for portraying Raj in Star Plus's Kuch Toh Hai Tere Mere Darmiyaan as a lead and Romesh "Romi" Bhalla in Star Plus's Yeh Hai Mohabbatein and for appearing in Colors TV's comedy reality series Khatra Khatra Khatra.[1][2] In 2019, he participated in the reality shows Khatron Ke Khiladi 9 and Nach Baliye 9 and emerged as a finalist in both the reality shows.[3] He also participated in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi – Made in India where he finished in 5th place.[4] He is a participant in Bigg Boss 14.

Early life and background[edit | edit source]

Aly Goni was born in Bhaderwah, Jammu & Kashmir,[5] in a Muslim family.[6] His parents are Amjad Goni and Ruby Goni. Aly Goni has three siblings - his elder brother's name is Arslan Goni[7][8] and two sisters, Ilham Goni.[9][10] and Saltanat Goni.

In 2014, Goni was dating Serbian model Nataša Stanković[11] but the couple reportedly broke up and was invited to participate as an ex-couple in Season 9 of dance competition Nach Baliye in 2019.[12][13]

Career[edit | edit source]

In 2012 Aly participated in the reality show MTV Splitsvilla 5.[6] He later made his acting debut with StarPlus's show Yeh Hai Mohabbatein playing Romi Bhalla from 2013 to 2018.[14]

In 2014, he participated in Sony TV's Box Cricket League where he was a part of the team 'Jaipur Raj Joshiley'.[15] He later appeared in Seasons 2-4 as well. In 2015, he played the main lead in Ekta Kapoor's Kuch Toh Hai Tere Mere Darmiyaan where he replaced Vibhav Roy.[16] He was seen along with Asha Negi and the show went off air in January 2016 due to low ratings.[17]

In 2016, he played the negative role of Kabir Raichand in &TV's Yeh Kahan Aa Gaye Hum.[18] He later presented Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya.[19] He later played Virat in Life OK's Bahu Hamari Rajni Kant.

In 2017, he played Sushant in Dhhai Kilo Prem in a cameo role. In 2018, he acted in shows like Dil Hi Toh Hai and Naagin 3.[20] In 2019, he participated in Colors TV's Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi in its ninth season.[21][22] He later participated in Kitchen Champion & Khatra Khatra Khatra.[23]

In July 2019, he participated in dance reality show Nach Baliye with his ex-girlfriend Natasa Stankovic and emerged as one of the finalists.[24][25] In 2020 he participated in Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi – Made in India as a contestant. In November 2020, he entered Colors TV's Bigg Boss 14 as a wild card entrant on day 31.[26]
