The policy section of the village pump is used to discuss proposed policies and guidelines and changes to existing policies and guidelines.

  • If you have a question about how to apply an existing policy or guideline, try one of the many FAMEPedia:Noticeboards.
  • This is not the place to resolve disputes over how a policy should be implemented. Please see FAMEPedia:Dispute resolution for how to proceed in such cases.

Proposal 1[edit | edit source]

Allow administrators to grant and revoke the template editor, reviewer, extended confirmed and blocked from chat userrights.

Reason

While only Bureaucrats and founder has the ability to add and remove the the above flags from any account, I think giving admins this right might speed up the process of requesting and granting the right. Because the are two bureaucrats and only 1 founder. While there are couple of admins who can handle this easily.

It is strange to trust admins with the block button but not to review articles. This should have been done long before.

Proposal 4[edit | edit source]

I propose the following lines to be created as criteria to elect admins:

  • The user must be here for more than 2 months.
  • The user should have at least 300 mainspace edits and should hace created a couple of articles. This doesn't include those articles which are copied from wikipedias like English or Simple English Wikipedia.
  • The user should have need for the tools i.e they should be active in the noticeboards and other areas where admins actually assist.
  • The user should be familiar with all FAMEPedia policies and guidelines and should be civil and welcoming to newcomers.
  • Editors who want to become administrators need to have a working e-mail address configured in their profile. They also need to regularly read and respond to the e-mail sent to that address. This is because administrators are sometimes contacted by e-mail.

Remove the limit on questions a user can ask in Requests for adminship process. The current limit is 2 questions per user and not more than that.
