Rajaratna Ashok Ambedkar is an Indian social and religious activist and politician. That Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar has cousins. Rajaratna is the president of the Indian Buddhist Congress. They work for the propagation of Buddhism.

Dr. Rajaratna Ambedkar Babasaheb is Ambedkar's brother-in-law. He was the son of Ashok Ambedkar and the grandson of Mukundrao Ambedkar

Education[edit | edit source]

Rajaratna is highly educated. In the year 2003, he did his B.Com from Mumbai University. In 2008, he graduated from the Institute of Chartered and Financial Accountants of India - Dehradun University with a degree in DBM. He did his ADM in 2008 and his MBA in 2010 from ICFAI University. Advanced Diploma in Management, MBA. He has held a senior position in a company as a company secretary. He was not happy while on the job. Eventually he decided to surrender to Dhamma.

Religious career[edit | edit source]

The Indian Buddhist Mahasabha or Buddhist Society of India was formed on May 4, 1955. Is a national Buddhist organization of India started by Babasaheb Ambedkar. Headquartered in Mumbai, Rajaratna Ambedkar is currently the fourth and current national president of the organization. The organization is a member of the World Fellowship of Buddhists, an international Buddhist organization.

On September 23, 2015, Rajaratna Ambedkar was initiated into Shramaner by Bhadant Arya Nagarjuna Surai Sasai at Indora Buddha Vihara in Nagpur. He was later renamed as Dhamma Ambedkar. Rajaratna had chosen September 23 as the day on which Babasaheb had to suffer a lot for untouchability in Gujarat (Sankalp Bhoomi). Dr. dream of making India Buddhist. Babasaheb Ambedkar had seen it. To accomplish this, he decided to propagate the Buddhist Dhamma.

Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar initiated the Buddhist Dhamma as a 'Buddhist' and brought the society out of the swamp of castes. Therefore, Rajaratna Ambedkar is of the opinion that Buddhists should not use words like 'Dalit' and 'Neo-Buddhist' for themselves again. Earlier, Yashwant Ambedkar had also expressed such an opinion.

Political career[edit | edit source]

Rajaratna Ambedkar has contested elections three times. In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Rajaratna Ambedkar has contested as the Bahujan Mukti Party candidate in the Nanded Lok Sabha constituency, but he got the third highest number of votes, and Ashok Chavan, who came first, won.
