Uppalapati Venkata Suryanarayana Prabhas Raju, popularly known as Prabhas, is an accomplished Indian actor primarily known for his work in Telugu cinema. Born on October 23, 1979, in Madras, Tamil Nadu, India, Prabhas has carved a remarkable niche for himself in the film industry.

Prabhas embarked on his acting journey in 2002 with his debut in the Telugu drama “Eeswar.” However, it was the action romance film “Varsham” in 2004 that catapulted him to fame. His exceptional talent and dedication to his craft soon earned him recognition as one of the highest-paid actors in Indian cinema.

Throughout his career, Prabhas has been a consistent presence on Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list since 2015, reflecting his immense popularity and influence in the entertainment industry. He has garnered several accolades, including seven Filmfare Awards nominations, a Nandi Award, and a SIIMA Award, showcasing his versatility as an actor.

Some of Prabhas’s notable works include “Chatrapathi” (2005), “Bujjigadu” (2008), “Billa” (2009), “Darling” (2010), “Mr. Perfect” (2011), and “Mirchi” (2013). His exceptional performance in “Mirchi” earned him the prestigious Nandi Award for Best Actor.

In 2015, Prabhas took on the iconic role of Baahubali in S. S. Rajamouli’s epic action drama “Baahubali: The Beginning.” The film went on to become one of the highest-grossing Indian films of all time. Prabhas’s portrayal of the legendary character garnered widespread acclaim and catapulted him to international stardom. He reprised his role in the sequel, “Baahubali 2: The Conclusion” (2017), which achieved unprecedented success by grossing over ₹1,000 crore (US$155 million) in just ten days, making it the second-highest-grossing Indian film to date.

Prabhas continued to expand his horizons by starring in the pan-Indian action thriller “Saaho” (2019), further solidifying his status as a versatile actor with a global fan base.
