Tina Bhatia is an actress, known for Inner City (2018), Gully Boy (2019) and Gulabo Sitabo (2020).

Tina Bhatia was born in Indore, Madhya Pradesh. After completing her early education from Kasturba Gram, Indore, Madhya Pradesh, she graduated from Old Girls Degree College and got her post-graduation degree from New Girls Degree College. Besides receiving formal education she always had a keen interest in performing arts as it ran in their family and took Kathak as one of her major subjects for graduation and post-graduation. With the dream of perusing a career in performing arts she joined the troupe of Dr. Suchitra Harmalkar, a renowned Kathak disciple of Raigadh Gharana that made her earn a junior fellowship of two years from Ministry of Culture. She also received the prestigious title “Nritya Shree” by “Kiran Sangeet Samaroh” Katni, Madhya Pradesh in the year 2003. With her continuous success in dance she slowly developed interest for acting and finally joined theatre in 2004 with renowned personalities like Sanjay Sapkal, Anil Chapekar and Susheel Johari. To pursue her career professionally she got admitted in National School of Drama, New Delhi in 2006. After completing a three years post-graduation course from NSD, Tina joined repertory company as a “B” grade artist and continued to work there for around two and half years. Thereafter she joined Kingdom of Dreams, a venture run by Wizcraft International as an actor. There she performed in around six hundred shows of the play JHUMROO. Till now she has acted in around twenty five plays. As a theatre director also she has two plays in her credit, namely “Marnouprant” and “Parsai”.

While acting in theatres she tried her luck in Bollywood films. She made her debut with 2012 release Oass. She also worked for two TV serial namely “Kyonki Jeena Isi Ka Naam Hai” and “Zindgi dot com” for Doordarshan during this time. She has also worked in English language film Interconnect. Till date her biggest release is Gully Boy where she played the role of “chhoti maa” Parveen. Besides working in big screen she is a known face in Indian Television also. She is best known for her roles in TV series Zindagi Dot Com and Pyaar Ke Papad. Tina Bhatia regularly appears in television commercials. Some of her notable works are Sonata, Muthut Fincorp, BBG india, Servo OIL, Rudaali for Radio Mirchi, Symphony, Asian Paints

Tina Bhatia belongs to a culturally rich family hailing from Indore, Madhya Pradesh. All of her family members are connected with performing arts. Her father Madhusudan Bhatia, a revenue inspector by profession is also an “A” artist for All India Radio whereas her mother Laxmi Bhatia is a folk singer. She is third among the four siblings in the family. Her brother Pawan Bhatia is music composer cum singer, elder sister Sangeeta Parmar is a radio announcer and younger sister Damayanti Mirdwal is a Kathak dancer. Her husband Boloram Das is also an actor who she met as a batch mate in NSD. After long friendship they got married in 2014.

Awards and nominations[edit | edit source]

Bhatia has received two international awards for her short film Inner City. She received Best Actress Award in Starlight Film Awards and Best Performance Female in Lake View International Film Festival. She was also awarded Best Actress (Monthly Award) at the Cult Critic Movie Award in 2019.
